This now depends on which edition of the software you’re using.
The current client software runs on your website, but transparently accesses our API at api.biblesupersearch.com. This is the default functionality. Users are not redirected to our website.
However, you can install our API on your website, along side the client This will allow running the modern software entirely on your website. Please see our downloads page for details.
The legacy software (all versions before 2.5) runs completely on your website. (The legacy software will be supported with security fixes until May 5, 2020.)
Bible SuperSearch is a Bible search and passage look up tool designed to run on a website. It is written in HTML, PHP, and CSS (with a little JavaScript), and is powered my a MySQL backend.
Please note: Bible SuperSearch does NOT run on a regular computer; it is designed for a website and needs a web server to run.
In order to add Bibles, you will need to have our API installed on your server. There is no way to for you to add Bibles if you only have our plugin or client software.
In order to get our user-friendly Bible importer, you will need to order our paid installation. (It is experimental code, and is not included with the standard API). This importer can import most Bibles if in Excel format.
If the Bibles you want to add are proprietary, you will also need to get the permission of the copyright owner in order to import it from them.
We believe the Textus Receptus/Byzantine text to be the preserved Word of God. The majority (95%) of New Testament manuscripts agree with the Textus Receptus. However, most modern Bibles are based on only 5% of the manuscripts, making them incomplete at the least.
As researchers need to see other Bibles for evacuation purposes, we will be adding them in the future, but they will be plainly marked as for research purposes only.

We will be releasing a package of developer’s tools soon that will allow you to import any text Bible into Bible SuperSearch.
