How can I add more Bibles?

In order to add Bibles, you will need to have our API installed on your server. There is no way to for you to add Bibles if you only have our plugin or client software.

Our API has the ability to import Bibles in several formats on it’s Bibles page.

If you are looking to add proprietary Bibles, such as the NIV, NASB or ESV you will also need to get the permission of the copyright owner and source the text from them.  We are unable to provide you with the text of these Bibles ourselves.

Why do you only offer certain Bibles?

We ONLY offer Bibles that are legally shareable for non-commercial purposes.  These Bibles are either 1) in the Public Domain, or 2) are copywrite under terms such they they can be freely reproduced and shared for at least non-commercial purposes.   We believe the Bible to be the inspired directly by God, literally God’s Word, and that the intent of the Lord was for his Word to be freely spread to the nations.  This is why we won’t seek permission from man to share God’s Word.  I

We believe the Textus Receptus/Byzantine text to be the preserved Word of God.   The majority (95%) of New Testament manuscripts agree with the Textus Receptus.   However, most modern Bibles are based on only 5% of the manuscripts, making them incomplete at the least.

As researchers need to see other Bibles for evacuation purposes, we will be adding them in the future, but they will be plainly marked as for research purposes only.  We also offer some Bibles that were the only Bibles we could find for the given language, even though we don’t necessarily recommend them.

For more information on the Bible manuscript text issue, please see

Will Bible SuperSearch ever support the Apocrypha?
Due to the Preserved Word Ministries statement of beliefs, we will never offer the Apocrypha with any of our software.   However, this does not prevent you modifying the scripts and distributing it with support for the Apocrypha.

I’m having trouble installing Bible SuperSearch Legacy.  The installer keeps asking me to log in, or I keep getting a MySQL error.
(Note: this was only a problem with older versions of our Legacy software.)
First, you should upgrade to the current version (>=2.1.00).  This version includes significant updates to the installer that should eliminate many of it’s reported problems. Second, you should make sure you are using a valid MySQL username and password.  Consult with your webhost to verify your username/password.

What do you charge for Bible SuperSearch?

It is free.  As in zero. After charging for it for a few years, we have decided to make it free again.   While we offer it for free, please help us out, and order the paid download if you can.  However, support will not be free.   If you ask for support, you will be REQUIRED to give your order number or other proof before we can assist you. This includes all forms of support, including email.

Is Bible SuperSearch responsive?  Will it look good on a tablet or mobile phone?
Generally speaking, yes, Bible SuperSearch IS responsive. However, there are some limitations. For parallel Bibles, we may enforce a limit as to the number of Bibles allowable based on scree n width. Also, the interface ‘Classic – Parallel 2’ is NOT responsive. We were able to make most of the classic interfaces responsive when we migrated them, but not this one. All the other forms and interfaces are responsive.

Is there a way that I can run Bible SuperSearch on my home computer?
Bible SuperSearch is web-based software, and therefore requires a web server to run.  Bible Desktop has a powerful retrieval/search syntax comparable with Bible SuperSearch, including Boolean search, and primitive proximity search.  It will run on Linux, Mac, Windows, and BSD.  (Preserved Word Ministries and Bible SuperSearch is NOT associated with the developers of Bible Desktop in any way.)  If you REALLY want to run Bible SuperSearch on your computer, you will need to set it up as a webserver with PHP and MySQL. For Windows and Mac users, you can do this by installing XAMPP
