We are pleased to announce the release of Bible SuperSearch 2.6.0.  This is a complete rebuild of the software from the ground up.

Last summer, we released our API (version 2.5).  Now, with updates to the API, we are able to release our new frontend client.  The frontend is written in a JavaScript framework (Enyo JS), and retrieves search data via a direct call to the API.  This results in a much faster user experience.

To speed development up, we did not redesign the user interface at this time, but just ported the existing UI to the new software.  However, this does not mean that we will be keeping this look.  In the near future, we will design some nicer, much more modern interfaces to choose from.

Features:

  • Everything that existed in Bible SuperSearch 2.2 and earler.
  • Much faster, especially with the proximity searches.
  • Ability to turn on and off Bible versions
  • Official WordPress plugin

As this rebuilt software will replace our older software, we strongly encourage users to upgrade.  The old software will be discontinued at some point.
